Stepping slightly out my comfort zone of landscapes and the great outdoors I spent a day in Manchester with Drew Forsyth and Holly finding out more about lighting and portraiture. This set taken on 35mm film.

During Summer 2020 with travel restrictions I started to explore Salford’s green spaces within walking and cycling distance of my home. Finding new woodlands I document change throughout the year, different seasons bringing changes of colour and new growth.
In this event:
Cath Stanley talks about the challenge of landscape photography, with travel restrictions, localised lockdowns and her city surroundings. This last year has challenged her creative practice to explore not only new ways of making work, it has opened up a sense of discovery about her local environment. Her observations document flora and fauna, living alongside major intersections of motorway carriageway and residential areas. These small pockets of greenspace offering so much more than she initially contemplated, yet they become an integral part of her daily recordings.
